Scottish Parliament Supports Restorative Justice To Benefit Crime Victims

RJI is encouraged by this story out of Scotland. Around the world justice systems are seeing that crime victims are asking for restorative justice because they have learned that the traditional justice system does little to meet their needs. But restorative justice seeks to 1) hold offenders accountable,  2) restores victims as much as possible  3) empowers victims to move on with their lives and 4) transforms offenders so they do not return to a life of crime.  Crime victims support restorative justice and want it to apply to all types of crime: nonviolent and violent offenses and to adult and juvenile offenders alike.
RJI is committed to advocating for victims-driven restorative justice and sharing the good news globally. We can learn from each other.
