RJI Youth Summit Ends: Huge Global Success (June 16, 2026)

RJI’s Youth Summit ended on June 8th after a three day successful global e-conference. Over 500 youth delegates watched the proceedings representing some 20 countries. Eighteen Summit speakers presented on a diverse number of subjects related to restorative justice including justice reform, human rights, restorative justice and severe violent crimes, restorative practices and education, wrongful convictions, and in-prison restorative justice. Of the 18 speakers 12 countries were represented. We are grateful for each expert who spoke, scholars all, including victims/survivors of violent crime, and exonerees.

RJI is getting much feedback from the global e-conference showing a high degree of interest in restorative justice and an eagerness to learn more.

RJI thanks the following Summit presenters: Dr. Upneet Lalli (India), Austin Stack and Ailbhe Griffith (Ireland), Margot Van Sluytman and Rick Kelly (Canada), Professor Don John Omale (Nigeria), Virginia Domingo (Spain), Jeff Deskovic, Esq., Professor David Love, Reverend Jack Sullivan Jr, Nicholas Bradford (U.S.), Pastor Jonathan Peter Clayton (South Africa), Martin Howard and Marg Thorsborne (Australia), Paulo Moratelli (Brazil), Dr. Sandro Calvani (Thailand), Jo Berry and Ray and Vi Donovan (UK), and Arshad Mahmood (Pakistan).

RJI President Lisa Rea opened the Summit with introductory remarks and closed the global event. Her introductory remarks focused attention on key foundational principles of restorative justice which include truth, justice and accountability.

RJI shares some of the presentations today with additional speeches soon to be published. Visit Restorative Justice International’s YouTube page to access more of the Summit talks. Special thanks to Martin Howard (Australia) for his technical experience and graphic design (RJ World) which made the Youth Summit accessible and creative.
