The following is the full recording of the International Conference on Restorative Justice & the Challenges of the 21st Century in India. The 8 1/2 hour virtual conference on October 22, 2020 was organized by Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla in collaboration with the Institute of Correctional Administration, Chandigarh. Dr. Upneet Lalli with the Institute was a primary organizer of the event and is a member of RJI’s Global Advisory Council (GAC).
Speakers included RJI President Lisa Rea, GAC member and exoneree, Jeffrey Deskovic, Deskovic Foundation, and Dr. Brian Steels, Director, Asia Pacific Forum on Restorative Justice (Australia). A diverse array of speakers from India, and Sri Lanka, presented throughout the day and into the evening. RJI thanks the HPNLU Shimla and Upneet Lalli for inviting RJI to participate in this noteworthy international conference on restorative justice.
