Connecticut Victim of Violent Crime Supports Restorative Justice

This is the story of Pastor Walt Everett. Victims of crime come to restorative justice in different ways. In this case Pastor Everett moved towards restorative justice after he heard an expression of remorse from the man who killed his son. Pastor Everett chose to forgive. Some victims choose not to forgive. That’s an individual decision we leave up to crime victims. It is their choice—always. Restoration and healing on some level was the fruit produced through restorative justice for this victim’s family member and the offender. This is the story of Reverend Walt Everett first published by The Daily Item.
