Barbara Walshe is currently Chair of the Board at the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation based in the Republic of Ireland. Barbara works for peace and reconciliation on the island of Ireland by promoting dialogue between those with different traditions and faiths. She has 20 years of experience in research, advocacy, training, community development, peace building and restorative justice at the local, national and international level.
In 2013 Barbara worked in the U.S. with former Wisconsin state Supreme Court Justice Janine Geske (Marquette University) allowing her to facilitate restorative circles in detention centres for young men, women’s prisons and in a maximum security prison.
Barbara has served as a Peace Envoy in Israel/Palestine and is a member of Facing Forward, a non-governmental organization committed to restorative justice in cases of sexual abuse and trauma.
